History
Started by a third generation pyrotechnician, KYNEX Inc. has decades of experience in the fireworks trade. Fred Mowry Jr started the family down the path that they are on today, doing blasting, fireworks and even movie special effects he trained his sons to continue on the legacy.
KYNEX owner James Kyne was trained by his mother and uncles in the trade early in his adult life and continued training in the military as a Marine infantry assaultman doing demolition and breaching and serving two combat deployments in Afghanistan.

Our CEO and head pyrotechnician, James Kyne, brings over 15 years of pyrotechnic experience to KYNEX inc. James also served 4 years in the United States Marine Corps where he served as a demolition and explosives expert.
Marty Brown
Director of Sales and Logistics
Marty Brown is our Director of Sales and Logistics. A United States Army veteran, Marty brings decades of sales and pyrotechnics experience to the company.
Leonard Mowry
Pyrotechnician
A retired firefighter, Leonard Mowry has over 30 years of experience in the pyrotechnic industry including roles as a fire inspector and trainer. He is also the former President of Mowry Explosives, Inc. and has directed numerous fireworks displays and pyrotechnic effects for movies. In addition, Leonard is our safety and training instructor.
